Simple Step to Prettier Healthier Hair and Skin

Simple Step to Prettier Healthier Hair and Skin

I have been married for a couple of decades and my wife has been complaining of dry skin for at least the last ten years. She uses skin lotion and  body wash with moisturiser when she showers and is constantly scratching. So over time I scratch her back several times a week before we turn in for the night. This usually leaves those white scratch marks you get with very dry skin. One day I was listening to a radio show Voices of Success, run by a friend of mine, Kjelene Bertrand (pronounced SHE-Lene). She was interviewing Fred Van Leiw AKA The Water Doctor. One of the things he was talking about was how chlorine and fluoride are toxic poisons. They are put into the water to kill bacteria that will make us sick. This prevents cholera and other disease from spreading, especially in urban environments where water is used and continuously recycled. This all makes sense and didn’t mean much to me. Then he went on by mentioning most people know now to drink bottled or at least filtered water to remove some of these chemical treatments but what most people (including me!) don’t think about is our skin absorbs 6 to 100 times more chemicals from the water than our digestive system does. The liver and kidneys remove the toxins we ingest but the skin absorbs it straight and this results in damaged hair, dry skin, and other damage. Bingo! That could easily explain my wife’s dry skin. It appeared around the time we moved to a new area of the country. So a fewdays later I was in my local health food store and I came across a chlorine removing shower filter. This one was cheaper than what the water doctor was selling but I figured that if this cheaper one made a difference then I could move it to the less used guest shower and buy the expensive one. The more expensive one  is designed to remove fluoride and other heavy metals. Well I am happy to report that in just two weeks there is noticeable improvement in my wife’s dry skin and I noticed my own thinning hair felt much softer using my same dandruff shampoo. So in conclusion even a semi-cheap (less than $50) shower filter designed to remove chlorine can have a major effect on improving your hair and skin condition making your hair softer and your skin more touchable.
